Introduced in 1977, the Guild “S” series solid body guitars featured a radical and innovative body style available in several pickup configurations. The S-60 was the most stripped down, with a single humbucking pickup, unbound neck, and simple two knob control layout. Like many vintage “Entry level” guitar designs, the stripped down nature actually makes for a streamlined, rock n’ roll machine. The double cut mahogany body is lightweight, while the great playing mahogany neck and rosewood fingerboard will feel familiar to Gibson players. The original Guild humbucker was replaced with a DiMarzio Super Distortion making this a truly screaming one pickup guitar! This example is in great shape and includes the original hardshell case, as well as the original Guild “Case Candy”. It is hard to find a vintage, American made solidbody electric from this era at a better price! EXC w/OHSC $1,350.
