One of Gibson’s most elegant designs, the SG Custom model of the 1960’s was known for its host of high-end appointments. From the trio of “Patent Sticker” humbucking pickups, to the ebony fingerboard and block inlays, all finished off with gold plated hardware, these are certainly some of the most beautiful guitars to come from Kalamazoo. While most of these guitars made shipped in the original “White” finish, occasionally custom color examples were offered, perhaps most unusual being the solid “Black” finish. While this guitar has certainly spent most of its life in its present finish, and the quality is on par with any factory paint job, it is our opinion that this example was at one time re-finished, making this an excellent opportunity for anyone who’s dreamt of a custom color SG Custom in this extremely rare finish. A clean and great playing example, this guitar has all of the versatility you’d expect from a three pickup SG, and the light weight body and fast playing neck make for a comfortable playing experience. An exceptionally rare guitar priced for a player! EXC w/OHSC $9,500.
