1954 Gibson Les Paul "Gold Top"

1954 Gibson Les Paul "Gold Top"

Just in to the store is an all original 1954 Gibson Les Paul Goldtop.  The '54 Les Paul was one of the best years for Gibson.  By then, Gibson had gotten rid of the limiting shallow neck pitch and the trapeze tailpiece bridge. The introduction of the wrap around tail piece in '54 changed the game.  In our opinion you can get a much fuller and bigger sound with this bridge, even more than a tune-o-matic.

This guitar features a gorgeous mahogany neck/body, rosewood fingerboard, very vibey Goldtop finish, Kluson tuners, P90 pickups, trapezoid inlays, wrap around bridge and a three way pickup selector.  It's easily agreed upon in the shop that this is everyones favorite guitar in the store right now. Without a doubt, it's one the best sounding 50's P90 Goldtop's we've had in our possession.  There's certainly a reason players like Freddie King, Michael Bloomfield, Hubert Sumlin etc. gravitated to these wonderful guitars. Comes with the original case!
